Apohem is Sweden’s new online pharmacy

Jun 12, 2018

Today makes the launch of the online pharmacy Apohem. Those behind Apohem include Axfood, Axel Johnson’s investment company Novax and the e-commerce entrepreneurs behind Lenson.

“Apohem AB’s vision is to become Sweden’s leading online pharmacy. With low prices, fast, secure deliveries and the sale of prescription medications that will begin soon, we are laying the foundation for developing a unique customer experience together with Axfood,” says Henrik Patzer, Chief Executive Officer of Apohem.

Apohem started as a self-care pharmacy offering over-the-counter medicines and a wide range of merchandise through apohem.se. According to CEO Henrik Patzer, the next step will be to offer sales of prescription medications.

“We have submitted an application to operate outpatient pharmacies, and we aim to offer our customers prescription medications before the end of the year,” he says.

Apohem’s assortment, which currently consists of about 4,000 items and 500 brands, includes more products than a normal-sized pharmacy. The product range will be expanded during the summer and autumn.
Customers can easily place orders through apohem.se, and the products will be shipped free of charge from the warehouse shelf to the customer’s home or through a representative.

The pharmacy market has annual sales of more than SEK 40 billion and is growing steadily, particularly through online sales.
