The acquisition of Onyx in Borås by the STC fitness chain was completed in a few days. It is in line with the chain’s expansion plan, which has the goal of becoming a nationwide chain.
With the newly opened club on Allégatan and the acquisition of Onyx’s three facilities, the chain is taking a strong position in the city. STC already has clubs in Gothenburg and Jönköping, so Borås represents a natural step and an important centrepiece that will increase accessibility in Region Västra Götaland.
“Borås is a thriving city, and we have received many requests to establish STC here. We aim to offer everyone who visits us some type of training suited to them, and we hope to bring new fitness energy and new forms of training to the city,” says CEO Katarina Andersson.
In addition to the basic selection of strength, cardio and group fitness, we will also offer virtual alternatives on large LED screens to facilitate group fitness sessions around the clock.
Borås residents also will have the opportunity to try STC’s new high-intensity interval training (HIIT) concept – an effective workout routine that offers an extraordinary endorphin boost. It combines strength, fitness and endurance in exercises that can be scaled according to the level of the participants with the help of a high-spirited coach.
“We have built 100 clubs in Sweden, and the feedback from the members means that we can constantly develop our concept. Services, interiors and colour choices are carefully selected, but the most important thing is always to fill the clubs with joy, passion and a sense of community. We work on that together,” says Antoni Kutics, who is responsible for development.
