Karin Whitlock, Leeroy's former Sales Director, has been appointed as the new CEO of food tech company Leeroy. Karin assumed the role in May 2021 and brings with her a background in executive positions primarily within companies such as Dun & Bradstreet, Tre, and Nordnet. She also has experience as a restaurant manager. Leeroy also appoints Peter Eriksson as the new CFO.
"The digitalization of the restaurant industry has been progressing at a record slow pace – it is the third least digitized industry in the world! But the development has received a significant boost over the past year due to restrictions; restaurants have simply had to quickly adapt to new, digital ways of ordering and payment. Here at Leeroy, we have a strong position with proven solutions that we are now scaling up for growth at the European level," says Karin Whitlock, newly appointed CEO of Leeroy.
Karin Whitlock most recently held the position of Commercial Director at Leeroy. Previously, she has held several executive positions at companies such as Dun & Bradstreet, Tre, and Nordnet. Karin also has experience from the restaurant industry, including growing up within her family's café and restaurant business.
"Karin has solid experience in sales, change management, and digitalization. This, combined with her strong leadership qualities, drive, and energy, makes her the right person to lead Leeroy during the international expansion phase we are currently in," says Stefan Lennhammer, Chairman of the Board of Leeroy.
Leeroy's digital tools help restaurants get closer to their guests and develop customer relationships. The tools – cloud-based services, POS systems, and a restaurant app – contribute to increased customer loyalty while simplifying and streamlining the daily operations of restaurants. Among the customers, comprising over 400 restaurants throughout Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, are Pizza Hut, Waynes Coffee, Hawaii Poké, Holy Greens, Lett, and Zocalo.
"There has long been an underlying need in the restaurant industry for digital tools to increase customer loyalty and streamline operations. This year, demand for these tools has increased, not only in Sweden but also in the Nordic region," says Karin Whitlock.
Peter Eriksson has taken on the role of CFO. He has a background in business controlling at companies such as DIBS and Paynova and most recently served as Head of Business Controlling at Dun & Bradstreet.
"I look forward to, together with my colleagues, continue developing the finance function and ensuring continued growth for Leeroy," says Peter Eriksson, CFO of Leeroy.
