New collaboration creates groundbreaking fitness membership

December 21, 2023

A new, revolutionary collaboration between the fitness app Bruce and the gym chain STC is set to launch at the end of December as a step in seriously challenging Swedes' conventional exercise routines and encouraging more movement in an increasingly sedentary society. The collaboration means that as a Bruce member, in addition to the country's best studio training, offering everything from swimming and climbing to yoga and HIIT, you also gain access to STC's entire range of 215 gyms from north to south.

The collaboration between Bruce and STC means that in the future, they will be able to offer a fitness membership unlike any other - with more variety and greater flexibility than ever before.

"The vision with Bruce has always been a platform that offers a wide range of training, with something for everyone. We want to be the place that gathers everything in one place, where members can easily go to their favorite places and discover new ones, without having to think about payment plans, contract terms, and other parameters for each individual facility," says Peter Andersson, CEO of Bruce. "The collaboration with STC is a missing puzzle piece for us to offer our members an unbeatable membership. From having a strong offering in the country's three largest cities, we are now expanding accessibility through one of Sweden's largest gym chains with 215 facilities from Ystad to Åre. In the long run, I hope that more chains follow in the footsteps of STC and join us, thus reaching an even larger group of people who want to enjoy the benefits of varied training.”

By adding all of STC's gyms to Bruce's already extensive range of varied training, they can now also boast offering the most training facilities, with training in all its forms, at no less than 650 locations in Sweden. In total in the Nordic countries, this means that Bruce will offer its members access to nearly 900 different facilities under one membership.

"At STC, our overarching goal is to get more people moving, and we understand the importance of a versatile exercise routine. We can accomplish a lot on our own as a chain, but we also see how through Bruce we can reach a broader audience who may not necessarily choose a membership exclusively with us," says Anders Carlbark, CEO of STC. "It is, of course, a big step for us to open up all our gyms to Bruce members, but we are convinced that together we have a perfect match. We have reached, for both parties, a commercially viable solution that brings us closer to an important common goal - to get more people moving."

Bruce, founded in Stockholm in 2015, has since its inception offered its members the opportunity to create an exercise routine based on freedom and variety. Bruce is available in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark and provides access to hundreds of independent training facilities under one membership.

STC, founded in 1998 in Kungälv, has grown from a local option on the west coast to one of Sweden's largest gym chains with over 215 gyms from Åre in the north to Trelleborg in the south. STC has over 1500 employees and aims to activate people of all ages with affordable and high-quality training. Together at STC, we work with joy, passion, professionalism, personality, and community.
