RCO expands its operations in the area of digital lock systems by acquiring the company Swedlock AB. The companies complement each other very well within the customer segment of public services and together can create a unique and unified customer offering. Swedlock has quickly taken a leading position in lock systems, especially for municipalities and other essential public services. The company has solid expertise in the development and production of electromechanical lock cylinders and secure cloud-based lock system services.
With digital key management, one key works for many locks. There is no need for electrical installation or network connection, no batteries are needed in the locks, and customers avoid cumbersome administration of analog keys. With the help of digital, so-called DUO locks, public services can easily open all doors needed to carry out their activities, such as home care and waste collection. Swedlock's innovative digital lock technology is also an integrated part of the Smart Passage service from SOS Alarm. Through digital authorization and access to properties, the work of the rescue service is streamlined, potentially saving crucial time during operations.
"For RCO, the acquisition is strategic, long-term, and highly logical. One of RCO's main segments is public services, which includes municipalities, regions, and authorities. Swedlock's electronic lock systems, which are both unique and have international potential, together with RCO's solutions in access control systems and alarms, create a unified solution and a better user experience for our customers," says Fredrik Sidhagen, CEO of RCO.
"In many areas of society, there are challenges with efficiency, accessibility, and security due to outdated key management. With digital lock systems, these problems can be addressed. Swedlock has delivered unique lock solutions to Scandinavian essential customers for over 15 years. Our ambition to be the best provider in our niche is further enhanced by the acquisition, and we look forward to continuing to grow our existing business and also expanding into new areas and markets. We are very excited to continue our journey together with RCO. Through this, we become even stronger," says Johan Hörberg, CEO of Swedlock.
The RCO group is on an exciting journey of change, and the acquisition of Swedlock fits well into RCO's growth strategy and portfolio of future solutions for accessible, secure, and digital properties.
